What is accreditation?

Accreditation is a distinction granted to any institution meeting or exceeding the stated criteria of educational quality. The purposes of accreditation include:

Assess and enhance the educational quality of an institution.
Assure consistency in institutional operations.
Promote institutional improvement.
Provide for public accountability.

Why is accreditation important to you?

Accreditation affects you by providing for the responsibility of an institution and assuring prospective and current students of the following:

It is recognized as a qualified institution of higher learning with approved programs of study that meet recognized academic standards.
It employs a professional staff.
It has sufficient facilities and equipment.
It is a stable and permanent fixture in the educational community.

This school voluntarily undergoes periodic accrediting evaluations by teams of qualified examiners including subject experts and specialists in occupational education and private school administration.

What if I'm deployed or transferred?

You can access your online courses from anywhere in the world as long as you have an Internet connection. If you'll be unable to continue your coursework due to deployment, contact your Student Services Coordinator.

Does Everest participate in military-assistance programs?

Yes. Our Veteran Representatives can help you apply for any and all assistance you may be eligible for, whether you're active duty or a veteran. We can help you with Tuition Assistance, the Montgomery GI Bill, Vocational Rehabilitation, VEAP, Dependents and Survivors Assistance, Education Assistance for the Selected Reserves and more.

Can I receive credit for prior education and/or military experience?

Yes. Coursework from other accredited institutions, professional or technical certifications and military training may count as credit toward your advanced degree, helping you earn your degree faster. We'll help you make the most of your prior experience and training with personal assistance and convenient links to military transcript sites and other relevant sites.

How many courses can I take at a time?

Typically, our students take 2-3 courses per quarter. Keep in mind that many tuition-assistance programs have a cap on the amount of aid you can receive for tuition reimbursement, which could influence the number of courses you wish to take at a time.

Do I need additional software to take classes online?

Most standard home computers are equipped with everything you need to take your classes online. You just need Web access, an active email account and a word processing program on the computer used for your coursework. Some classes may also require additional downloaded or purchased software. When do classes start?

Now is the best time to get started. Because we have traditional terms and mini-terms in session continuously, classes form often.

Can international students transfer credits?

Your previous education at eligible higher-learning institutions can count for credit at Everest matter how much time has passed since you earned those credits.

Your prior credits must be compatible with the degree program you're pursuing at Everest. We can accept up to 24 previous college credits. We can help you sort through your college transcripts to find out what courses can transfer.

In our student catalog, and related disclosure documents, we explain to prospective students that there is no guarantee credits can be transferred. Acceptance of any institution's credits is at the sole discretion of the receiving institution.

Even so, upon request we work with students to help them transfer credits and have many students who have successfully transferred credits to other institutions.

The main "rule" is that credit transfer is wholly at the discretion of the "transfer to" institution. Schools establish guidelines as to the number, subject matter, age, division level and satisfaction of programmatic pre-requisites of previously earned academic credits.

We believe the high quality of our educational standards and the recognition of our accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education should be the determining factors in transfer credits, but that is not always the case.

Are tuition and fees different for international students?

At Everest, international students pay the same tuition and fees as domestic students. The cost of your education depends on the number of credit hours you take each quarter and the amount of aid you receive.

After admission to Everest, but before registering for classes each quarter or mini-term, you must make arrangements to cover the cost of tuition, books and fees. You can pay by check, by credit card or you can contact our Student Finance Officers for details on a wide range of financing alternatives.

Who is Everest?

Everest University is owned and managed by Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (CCi). CCi was formed in 1995 to own and operate schools across the nation that focus on high-demand, specialized skills. CCi is continually seeking to provide the kind of training programs that will best serve the changing needs of students, business and industry.

With headquarters in Santa Ana, California, and schools in various states, CCi provides job-oriented training in high-growth, high technology areas of business and industry. Which degree programs do you offer?

We offer Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's Degrees programs in a variety of subjects.

How long will it take to obtain my degree?

Our students can obtain an Associate's Degree in as little as 18-24 months and a Bachelor's Degree in 36-48 months. This will depend on the number of classes taken per quarter and, if applicable, the number of hours transferred in. The more classes you take at a time, the sooner you may graduate.

What is the curriculum like at Everest ?

What truly makes Everest outstanding is that the majority of our classes are focused on the Major Core Classes, as opposed to the traditional schools that may focus less on the Major Core Classes. This means that our students are utilizing their time and money concentrating on the classes that will prepare them for their careers. This is why our graduates are in such high demand.

Is the program 100% online?

Everest degrees are 100% online. You will never have to go into a classroom or go to a campus. Our students enroll, select classes, attend school, take tests, obtain their books and complete their degrees all from the comfort of home or work.

What are the virtual classrooms like?

When you log in to our online studies Web site, you will see all the classes you have signed up for. Simply click on the class they would like to attend, and you'll be able to see the lectures (posted by the professor for student review), homework assignments and exams due. Our students have the option of printing their lectures so that they can review them anywhere and at any time. Discussions are posted, and students can participate in class discussions. The exams or quizzes are all open book and are accessible online 24 hours/7 days a week.

How often do I have to log into my classes?

Students must log in to their classes a minimum of once a week, but you choose the days and times that work best for you.

How can I be assured I will have personalized attention?

Our formula is simple: small classrooms equal more attention to students' needs. Our class sizes average 15-20 students, which means that you'll have more individual attention from your instructor and your classmates.

How do I take exams?

All tests and quizzes are open book. You will take your quizzes from the comfort of your home. Also if you are working on a team project, you will be graded individually based on the amount of work you contribute.

What happens if I move?

No problem. You can continue with online coursework from anywhere in the world, as long as you have access to the Internet.

What are some other important things to keep in mind about Everest ?

The degree and transcripts our online students receive are exactly the same as those our campus students receive.
Our entire program is online. Our students are not required to go to a campus for testing or to pick up books.
We do not require our students to log in at a specific time or a specific day. You will not be told the number of hours that you must attend each week. You will be responsible for completing all the necessary homework, but the amount of time you spend completing homework and studying is your responsibility.
Our students can attend school full time or more if desired. You're not limited to one class at a time as in many other online schools.
